Fun pampering for kids!

Strictly for kids ...pampering at Le Grand Bornand !

The Ô Des Cimes Spas d'Altitude at  Village de Lessy, in Le Grand-Bornand offers a Kids Spa where children aged between 6 and 12 years old can experience the a little pampering, just like their parents. Five indulgent and fun treatments are on offer: "Sandman" (massage), "Chocolate wrap" (wrap), "1,2,3 Sun" (mother-daughter manicure), "Softly, Softly" (soft sugar scrub), and "Twinkling Star"(facial). Prices start at 30€ for 30 mins. There's also a treatment specially for teenagers (€45) and an introdution to applying natural makeup at €35 for 45 minutes.
The products used are specially conceived for young skins

Le Grand Bornand area offer a Mini-domaine skipass which will give access to all the easy slopes at the top of the Joyère and Rosay cable cars and key lifts from Le Chinaillon for €17 (under 8 years old) or €20 (under 15 years old) per day.

It is hard to imagine a more relaxed and traditional setting in which to ski, and the ease of accessibilty is another plus factor for skiers from the UK. The terrain accommodates just about everyone from first-timers up to freeriders and freestyle skiers, while the Famille Plus label underlines a continuing commitment to family skiers. Add nearby La Clusaz (included on the Aravis lift-pass) for mile hungry family members would keep everyone happy.

Team this with an excellent private nanny service and you have the recipe for a dream winter family holiday.

Monty goes skiing

This book had us smiling from beginning to end, it is very true and correct to what we see daily on the slopes. Hats off to Richard Liddle who wrote the story, it is evident form the book that his experience shines through. Monty is a curious Marmot who is keen to not only see and explore the mountains but to do it on ski's. After seeing everyone else having fun he wants to see what he is missing out on. With the help of his new friend Mortimer, that's exactly what he does. With some ups and downs on his way Monty is eager to head back for more.

The story incorporates terminology that children will hear in lessons, so introducing them to this through a fun story is a great way to start them off. I would read this to children before they go on holiday, especially to apprehensive children, to show them what fun can be had.

Ski show celebrations

London Ski and Snowboard show celebrated 40 years this week with fine wine, indoor ski slope, ice ring, lessons, shops and music. We were thrilled to meet some old friends and make new ones too.
Little Skiers stand was delightful with some excellent child friendly products and we managed to get lots of copies of MONTY GOES SKIING, by Richard Liddle,  the BASI instructor and author of this book. Our nannies will love to share this book with our little clients and talk about the excitement of  skiing.
We met the huskies in the Tirol stand and enjoyed some lovely raclette and proper French produce.
There was a wonderful winter atmosphere and lots of children around having fun on the slides and the bouncy castle.
Many booked their holidays and many are still planning.
If you are one of the ones who cannot decide where to go to please the whole family, give us a call . We will be delighted to hear from you .
